The violence in this book is beyond anything else I’ve ever read, and I enjoyed A Song of Ice and Fire. It does have interesting commentary about colonialism though.

I can't say I enjoyed the experience of reading this, but it was well-written and well-crafted. The characters were very nuanced and flawed, and I experienced a lot of emotions while going through the story. It's not a feel-good tale, but it is well done.

It went from being War College vibes with rivalry and special powers to real war shit real fast. Whats worse is a lot of the horrible stuff is based on history.
