This one was tough to rate. On the one hand, I inhaled it and wanted to know what happened through most of the book. On the other, the plot holes and "wait, what..?" moments were numerous.
This is a great read if you can't shut off any inclination to ask questions or think about most of what's being presented, which I admit is a challenge.
Things that made absolutely no sense:
* Nell's career being ruined over an argument with her father
* The love storyline
* The voice the main narrator was allowed to use for Felix
* Why a parent would be cool with abandoning their family for decades rather than just having a few difficult conversations
* That literally no one blinked an eye at someone taking over a job after being gone for decades
