I loved the story and the story telling alot. I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars, but the ending was pretty much the same ending as one of her other books I read, just told differently. I don't know if all her books end this way, where lovers reunite after 40 plus years and suddenly have to make it work. It would be a big coincidence that the 2 books I decided to read by her ended exactly the same. Which is kinda disappointing because I do like her writing. I would give another book by her a shot , I just hope not all her books have this type of ending. Shes really good at keeping suspenseful and makes you want to binge read the story.

I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d like this. The witchy theme isn’t usually one I like but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Set in 1940’s occupied Paris and 1980’s Boston, missing lovers and complex families. I really enjoyed it and I’m away to see what else the author has written!
