The end was good... everything else was a waste of words.

This book is just overwhelmingly boring. Which is wild because if I give a synopsis of the overarching plot of this book it sounds like it should be insane.
The story is about how Peter Pan is actually a psychopath, has sex with a woman who then gives birth to his daughter. The daughter ages too fast and also has magic blood that Holly uses to cure her son who was hurt in the car accident that killed her husband and her other son. The living son is a tool throughout the entire book. The daughter who is supposed to be in a coma suddenly disappears and Holly has to go back to London and try to find her because she thinks that peter has kidnapped her to restore his youth to get back to Neverland. It turns out Peter is actually dealing in drugs and killing young boys to try and slow his own rapid aging. Captain Hook is also maybe a private detective named Christopher Cook.
Like it sounds wild and yet every possible plot point that Holly could be playing a part in she some how doesn’t. She spends the entire book making phone calls, nagging her son or her mother or her other hired help, angsting about her dead family and talking about but not actually addressing the fact that she was harvesting her daughter’s blood so that her son Jack could play sports. There is no character development for anyone. The climax of the book happens off screen and doesn't involve Holly at all. None of the composition of this book makes any sense. It’s like it was intentionally written to take a somewhat interesting premise and make it as dull as possible. Do not recommend.

I will keep my own version of Peter Pan sacred in my heart. ❤️ This one is sadly not the one.

As a Peter Pan obsessionist, I wanted to love this book as a retelling where Peter is the villain. It was an alright read but so many plot holes and events that weren't fully tied together at the end.
