I had high hopes for this one because I adored "I Thought You Said This Would Work" but this one fell so flat for me. The plot was fast-paced but repetitive and honestly didn't make a lot of sense at times. Things kept happening that Poppy thought were a huge deal and I just...didn't. The events that were supposed to be game-changing were just mundane. Not one of the characters was particularly likeable despite being written to be. The dialogue was stilted and clunky and no one felt real, everyone was very two-dimensional.

this was a cute read but it’s losing some points for the harry potter references and the fact that the main male characters name is “three”

Predictable

This was an enjoyable light read. The beginning has a good deal of information (at times felt a bit heavy) but contributed to the story in the long run.

Poppy Lively is a soon to be empty nester who trusted the wrong person and is in trouble with the IRS and may lose everything including the ability to send her daughter to college. In a last ditch effort she is offered a job on a Hollywood movie set in the wardrobe department, where things may not be exactly what they seem and Poppy is having a hard time fitting in.

You know those books that hit you just the right way at the right time? This one is one of those for me. I am really liking reading about women who are in the same stage as life as me and continuing to power through when all feels discombobulated. This was filled with unique characters who all had their own backstory that was seamlessly woven into the play without bogging it down. It had lively witty banter and some well placed puns. There was mystery and romance and a little bit of found family and redemption. And a cute little dog name Kevin!

Not at all what I was expecting! I throughly enjoyed it! Was poppy slightly annoying? Sure but she was in a midlife crisis! The ending? Not expecting that at all! How fun! I thought it was be a normal romantic comedy book but it was not! A thrilling story about someone at their very low starting a new life while trying to figure out how to stay true to their old self
