holy shit.

before you look at me and say, “really bitch..”

yes bitch, the book was fucking good and you’re missing out you know.

but anyways, the plot is great! the drama! the tension! and chemistry! KETAHN KNOWING BOUNDARIES (take some notes from him, you aliens monsters that i have read)

i love that theres not only about mating and romance all of the time in the story but theres also some suspense and political intrigues too here and there with its tyrant queen. this book kind of has the whole package you know and i enjoyed this book waayyyyy too much. with that being said, im fucking excited for the next books hhehehe

2.75

This book deserves 2.75 stars in my opinion. The start of the book was a little hard becauseI had to get used to the world, their names and style of speaking but it got better by the end. I could say it is a guilty pleasure of mine but it lacked story plot and character development in order to receive more stars.

It lacked build up. Everything happened kind of fast.
He found the ship. He found her and kept her. She woke up. They had a day or two of fighting but then catched "feelings".

My pet peave was
that they started to understand each other's language in just a few days.

Also it was way to much
sex in my opinion.
A single, well-crafted scene could have been impactful, but the repetition led to a sense of monotony, and I found myself skipping those pages.

Are the characters lovable? Well yes but they are also boring because they have nothing more going on than
being horny for each other

But it really is a guilty pleasure of mine as it had made my heart throb a few times.

You know, you show up for these (quite literally) bug nuts books with the hope that for once you’ll get something actually a little weird and a little fun, and it’s actually a pretty middle of the road fated mates with a possessive man. I actually don’t want to read another sex scene where a woman is not an active participant in any way, even if it is with a giant spider alien. I think these scenes have actively made people’s sex lives worse because it has convinced them they… don’t have to do anything! I actually don’t want to read another instance where a woman is like, hey can you just explain this to me a little? And he’s like, silly female, I guess I have to painfully thrust my dick into you again. Get it now? And then she does!!! Anyway, worst sin a book can commit is be boring, and this one was pretty boring. At least give me a vexing lead I can yell at. This man wasn’t even awful enough for me to completely hate. I consider a one star rating actually the gift of my hatred that this book did not earn. So 1.5.

I put off reading this for a long time because I thought it was going to be a mess. I couldn’t imagine this kind of monster in a romance being compelling, which was incredibly stupid of me. This book was wonderful.

This was a well-crafted story that focused on plot and character over spice. While I am not saying this makes it a more valuable book, it does make it much more enjoyable for me. I liked Ketahn and Ivy a lot. I loved the worldbuilding present. I appreciated the side characters. I went into this books thinking, how the fuck are these two going to make it? And by the halfway point, I was completely sold. Their relationship made sense.

I absolutely will read more from Tiffany Roberts, and I wholeheartedly recommend this book to others. It might be a bit much for a monster romance newbie, because envisioning Ketahn as someone worth boning takes a little more work, in my opinion, than a Minotaur or orc. But it’s well worth a read.

This was… good but not wonderful. I was expecting better but it definitely kept me entertained and interested. The steam was there. Not gonna lie… never though a character shaped as a spider would do it for me.

I was hoping for more though. Maybe in the next two, as this served as introductory. I love slow burn, and I suppose at times the slow burn of this one frustrated me. On the other hand, it’s good the physical stuff didn’t happen too early because it’d also be odd.

Idk. Solid 4 stars for sure and I look forward to t he rest of the series.

EDIT: I tried to pick up book two a week later and had no urge to do so. I suppose there isn't enough draw for me
