***ARC Review***

This is my honest review for the ARC I received.

Honestly, I’m not surprised that I loved this book as much as I did. Cora Rose just spins gold with whatever she writes. When I first learned that Colin’s book was up next in the Unexpected series, I wondered how she would achieve his HEA. And. It. Is. Glorious.

This book is so ridiculous at times - in the best way possible of course - I just could not contain my laughter and joy. (Ethan’s story about how his childhood hamster passed on… I am slightly ashamed to admit that I guffawed. Loudly. It was just such an unexpected turn of events). That’s what I love about these books. There’s humor everywhere and it just flows naturally.

It was everything to see Colin finally find his person, after a string of rejections in some of the other books in this series. Also, his date with Ben in this book was just…depressing. Lol.

Colin’s beau is his new next door neighbor, Ethan, a dual citizen Brit currently residing in America. Ethan and Colin get up to naughty things through their respective windows. I mean, seriously naughty. They claim not to like one another, but they are certainly drawn to each other. It was so interesting learning about Ethan’s backstory. It was also a little heartbreaking. (Dylan really is a turd). But his family is glorious and Ethan really does have a heart of gold. He just needed someone to help him bring his guard down. And he gets that twofold, with Colin and his adorable son, Daniel.

I love how easily Ethan accepted Daniel and how comfortable Daniel was with Ethan from the start. I’m glad that Colin and Daniel have Ethan to smooth out the ick that is Colin’s ex, Kurt.

It really was an immense joy reading this novel. It was heartwarming to see Colin find someone who appreciates him. It was equally charming watching Ethan come to terms with his feelings for Colin. I adored how their sex only relationship jumped to a fake fiancé trope to a real relationship. It was definitely an engaging read.

Cat, Brian, Joel are great side characters in this book. We even get a cameo from Magnus and Sem! I find that I love each subsequent book in the series more and more. Which is crazy, because each book is so damn good. Like, how does Cora keep topping herself?! “Colin” is book six in the Unexpected series. I’m definitely looking forward to book seven!

Audiobook relisten update (October 2023): was the British narration chaotic? For sure. But after a few minutes I got used to it and it’s still my favorite of the series!

Sweet Colin and Grumpy Possessive Ethan are out in the world!

Y’all know I’ve loved all of Cora’s books but Colin was something special. As an American married to a Brit am I a bit biased? Probably. But this book also has the cutest, most realistic and age appropriately written kid I’ve ever read (and normally I’m like

Such a fun story!

This book is why I love the enemies to lovers trope! Colin by Cora Rose is a wonderfully romantic joyride! The way these to fight is a passionate at they are in the bedroom...or through the windows!! Colin and Ethan are neighbors that can't stand each other but can't stand to be away from each other either. Throw Colin's sweet and precocious son Daniel into the mix and Ethan is smitten. Watching Ethan love Daniel fiercely, Colin is equally so. However, they've both been hurt before and that's difficult to get over.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book; sweet, cute, funny, low angst, but smoking hot steam from beginning to end!

Colin and Ethan. Poor Colin has been trying to find his person since his divorce and being a single dad for years. He was sure that he would not find that someone and was doomed to be alone. Enter Ethan. Ethan was a grumpy, sexy, Brit and all the two of them did was fight and bicker. Over a weed. After starting their nightly "sessions" things kept escalating. Colin started to catch feelings and figured it best they cut it off before he got hurt. Little did he know, he was not the only one that had been hurt by a past boyfriend/spouse.

I got all the butterflies and feels reading these two. If I wasn't swooning, i was almost in tears, or laughing. And done get me started on the spice
