I really enjoyed this book but there was A LOT of drama that at times felt unnecessary. The main character was immature at times but that was usually noted by the main character herself so there was some growth there which I appreciated. There was a decent amount of gaslighting from a couple of different characters but I was cheering when the main character stood up for herself and called it out. The plot had a pretty juicy start and the steamy scenes were well done. As noted in the content warnings, there is a mugging/physical assault that occurs that was unexpected. Also important to note that the police response to the event was infuriating. There were some heartwarming and sweet moments and some funny ones that made it a pretty well-rounded romance story.

Marlee’s boyfriend is a NFL mustang star. She’s been been dating him for 10 years and still hasn’t gotten a ring (that couldn’t be me, let me tell you..) and then she finds out he’s been cheating on her. Now enter, Gavin Pope, the new mustangs QB and oh so swoon worthy, and did I mention she slept with him years before? Watch Marlee deal with the witchy Mustang wives, a hot headed  ex, looming love, and trying to stay independent.

Okay, let me preface this by saying... I HATE FOOTBALL, this jersey is my boyfriend’s 49ers one. That being said... I STILL LOVED this book.

It made me laugh.

It made me smile.

It made me swoon.

It made me cheer for every triumph of this main girl! I definitely saw me and my friends in her, in the loyalty and standing up for each other and loving each other (also the things we mumble under our breath to each other) 💕

This was a bit steamy, a bit fluffy, and A LOT of a woman standing her ground. It was exactly what I needed after two books that gave me a book hangover.

If you like romances that are fast-paced with some fluff and steam? With strong female characters? Reads that make you smile and LOL? Try this out!

PS This author is actually the wife of a former NFL player that she met in high school just like the main character of this book! How cool is that?!
