If this book was just about Travis and the cult I probably would've loved this book. But after his chapters the plot just became jumbled. The ending was very anticlimactic and left me wanting more.

The last few chapters picked up the pace to the point I stayed up late reading. I was so drawn into the story I felt the fear of the characters as the story came to an end.

I spent most of the book confused, and the twists and explanations felt like a reach but a very original plot and like-able main characters. “The Village (2004)” vibes.

this had a great premise but it just ended up being really underwhelming, i called the big twist less than a third of the way into the book and didn't really have fun putting together all the pieces like i did with other thrillers i figured out fast. the ending was kind of underwhelming and the process of getting there just didn't click well for me.

If this entire book had been about Travis, I would have been way more interested. One of my least favorite tropes.

DNF at page 20. I'm actually bummed about this. I love Shea Ernshaw's writing and loved her two previous books. Unfortunately, this one has content that I can't handle and it's too scary. And I'm a scaredy-cat. 🤷‍♀️
