This is a pretty solid collection. The first bit ties up the continuing story from the first trade. Next, young Beast has a fun crossover with Dr. Strange, and the second half deals with Beast and Evan (young clone of Apocalypse) traveling back in time to meet young OG Apocalypse, and there’s a bit of a “should we kill baby Hitler” storyline that’s very fun, and seems to launch into a big crossover.

The first three quarters of this book was interesting. I liked the Cyclops and Beast angles, and I really liked how Paco mirrored Chris Bachalo's take on Doctor Strange's view of the Astral Plane. And while, Kid Apocalypse or Genesis or whatever he's calling himself is a great addition to the cast of this book, I found the Apocalypse portion of the book uninspiring.

I recommend if if you're enjoying Hopeless's run on ANXM, or if you're a huge Kid Apocalypse fan.

An okay book. Sure it was Evan and Young Hank, neither of which I particularly like. But a pretty good time travel adventure. And more information on Apocalypse than I usually see. The Young Scott with Toad story could have been a bit better. There was nothing all that bad to this book, just nothing all that good. It kind of felt like a filler book. 3.5 of 5.

This was Evan's big story arc and it sucked. Very overdone plot: Evan and Hank end up time traveled back to Ancient Egypt, Evan meets the first Apocalypse when he's still a sweet kid (he and Evan are identical), Even decides he wants to protect him so he never becomes Apocalypse because life is not fair. Hank runs around trying to protect the timeline (apparently Hank is STILL trying to get the baby X-Men back to their own time, btw). It was boring, shallow, and it ended very abruptly. Also, why didn't Even just put the mask on again and go back?

I'm not in love with the time travel story line of All New X-men so naturally I didn't love the time travel twist in this one as well. That being said I enjoyed the rest of the story. It was fun to see a young En Sabah Nur and to see the stark difference between him and apocalypse

Apocolypse and Hank McCoy go on walkabouts. Wackiness ensues.

I didn't really see the point with this volume. I felt lost while reading.

About as good as I expect X-Men crossover events to be these days. Read it simply because it was in the All-New X-Men numbering, but it was really nothing special. Looking forward to the next volume when the story can get back on track.
