It’s a brilliant book, really good premise for the fantasy plot, however she’s 16 when they meet and it’s very codependent, which I understand given her history but it just toes the wrong side of the line for me. The book is set 7 years later so nothing bad happens when she’s under age but it’s still felt a little predatory for me.

The book presents a mystery to solve, but it's quite superficial - almost like an afterthought - in the plot. The plot focuses more on the FMC Callypso' and the Bargainer Desmond's relationship both in the past and the present. The premise of this book is interesting, but the plot and character relationships fall a little short to give room for smut. Some additional editing to strengthen the plot would have make the story more impactful.

Callypso has been through some seriously hard times in the past. Desmond helped her through it then, but then left her for years. Callypso was left heartbroken and alone, to put her life back together again and to cope with hardships. One of her not-so-healthy coping mechanisms is to avoid any meaningful romantic relationships.

She gets over that unhealthy habit in a heartbeat, though, when "the right person" comes around talking about soulmates.

 Mate business? Mate business? Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. 

The protagonist and her best friend both see red flags in the Bargainer's current actions,

yet she quickly disregards them because he makes her horny.

 All this giving on my end, all this taking on his. This isn't what healthy relationships are made of. 

I would have hoped to se Callypso be more strong-willed than her lusty siren side, but maybe she'll get to spread her own wings more in the sequels. Maybe I'll even continue reading this series.

Enjoyed the storyline of this book. 
Did not like the pet name cherub. Kinda gross considering she was 16 when they first met and ‘fell in love’. Felt like the ending was rushed and didn’t really make a lot of sense so I’m hoping the next book has more about it. 

I liked the world building and their flirty relationship with each other. Can’t wait to read the next book and hopefully get some more insight into the cool new world

I absolutely love this book!!! Does someone want to purchase me the rest of the series? I’d love you forever! All joking aside the first book was amazing and I cannot think of anything to improve it!

The characters are unique and entertaining! Callie is a siren and I love the author’s interpretation of her powers! Callie is a sassy and confident woman and I adore her! The Bargainer is wicked and hot, who is a Fae King! He is the best! If you like Rhysand in A Court of Thorns and Roses, specifically in Book 1, then you will love the Bargainer! 

I want to give more details, but I do not want to spoil anything! The plot was amazing! I love how the story started and progressed! So, for most of the book until the gran reveal it goes back and forth from their past to the present! I thought it was done extremely well and enjoyed seeing the differences between the years. 

I think this book was perfect and deserved its 5 out of 5 stars! The fact I want to be financially irresponsible and get the rest of the series should show how much I enjoyed this book! You definitely need to read this is you like dark fae romances or loved dark Rhysand!
