This book built on the first of the series in a beautiful way. I found it easier to relate to and become attached to both work now that they are teenagers and young women, as opposed to children. The friendship between them and the relationships between all the characters are so complicated but the story is told wonderfully.

I really love how visceral Ferrante's writing feels. Her characters are alive and inscrutable and complicated and upsetting, and I'm obsessed with them.
