This is one of the most satisfying endings I've read for a series I've loved.
I genuinely don't know how to give a finale a better praise.

The characters old and new were just as charming as I found them to be when I first picked up The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. It was so much fun to see Monty lament about past Monty whilst still being—well— very much Monty. It was so much fun to see what all these characters were doing after TLGTPAP.

We also got to meet The Goblin/Adrian. He is such a sweetheart.
I heard people talk about how rough the book was to get through at times because of Adrian's anxiety. Maybe because I thought it was going to be worse than it was, or because I found his anxiety to be more relatable than anything else... I didn't struggle with that.

I loved the plot about the flying dutchman! It really gave me those Pirates of the Caribbean vibes I loved so much about the first two books. (especially TLGTPAP) And without any spoilers I found how it ended really interesting and had me questioning things.

My biggest critique is not enough Percy. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

If you read and enjoyed the first two books, this is DEFINETLY an ending I recommend reading!

A good closure to this series and representation of mental illness. That being said as a person with anxiety who uses books to quiet those voices the narration of intrusive thoughts and fears was often exhausting. I think that’s what makes the portrayal so compelling but it was also a bit of a slog at times

Adrian Montague is nineteen, his mother is dead, his father is trying to pass Adrian the family seat in Parliament, and his anxiety is a constantly buzzing mess that takes up most of his brainwaves. He has a fiancee, a lot of books, and has recently come into possession of a spyglass that belonged to his mother. When he endeavors to find out more about his spyglass, he unravels twenty years of family secrets, and finds himself on a voyage he never expected. This book has pirates, gentlemen, old friends, new friends, and just the right amount of everything.

Adrian was likeable, relatable, and I love him very much.

This is my favorite book of the series. This book was well-plotted, long but not over-long, and never dragged. Unlike the previous books, every stop on this journey felt like it had purpose, action occurred, and I felt joy to be with them on this adventure. This book felt the most real to me.

Unpopular opinion under the spoiler cut:
Spoiler Felicity remained just as self-centered and frustrating as ever, and she was the one person I am glad to be free of, having now finished this series.

Nice to see the siblings bonding, but the plot dragged.

Did I finish the series? I have no idea, but they are like a guilty pleasure to to read. I enjoy the characters and the plot is fun, never boring. I am always interesting in the characters. That being said, there was nothing that really stood out to me about them.
