J'adorais Vlad et Leila au début de leur mini-série. Malheureusement, le dénouement de leur histoire a duré un peu trop longtemps et la saga n'était pas aussi amusante/étonnante/originale que la saga avec Cat et Bones...

Two and a half stars. This one starts off in story telling mode unlike the whining start in book 3 which I didn't finish and feel like I didn't miss anything. Leila and Vlad's relationship isn't interesting to me.

I'm on part 2 of 8 on an audio copy of this books and I'm trying SOOOOO hard to like this. I didn't have huge problems with the other books in this series, with the exception of Leila being mildly annoying, but this just tragic. I really enjoyed Vlad in the Night Huntress books but all I'm getting from him now is an arrogant, whiney, ass who throws temper tantrums when he thinks that people are not listening to him...kind of like what I get from Leila (subtract the arrogance and add in a huge dose of self loathing depressing juvenility. I really hope this book and these characters redeem themselves shortly, it would be so sad to end a promising series on such a low note.

Have you ever been separated from a great friend for a long period of time? Sometimes when that happens you can just jump right back into the friendship as if no time had passed at all. Other times you just realize that in the time that you've been separated both of you have lived separate lives and changed too much, and no amount of magic is going to restore your friendship to its formal glory. Well, I'm afraid that my experience in reading this final book in the Night Prince series is more like the latter situation than the former one. It has been A LONG time since the last book in this series was published. A long, long time. In that time Jeaniene Frost had lots of good reasons for not being able to publish this story in a timely manner as she explained in her BEAUTIFUL acknowledgement that began this book. But in the years that have passed between the publishing of these books I think I've just moved on from any emotional connection I had with these characters.
Vlad had been one of my favorite secondary characters in the Night Huntress series, and I did enjoy his character at the beginning of this one, but by book four I wasn't feeling the feels when it came to him. I didn't feel all the emotion between Leila and him either, and since that is an overwhelming motivation to almost all the decisions made in this story, it harmed my enjoyment of it. I just didn't really care what happened to anyone. Instead of being immersed in the action and emotion of the story I felt like a bystander, casually observing the lives of people I had once cared for.
This is still a well-written book. I didn't have any problem finishing it. I just didn't really love it in the same way I normally love Jeaniene Frost's books. There is going to be a spin-off series involving Ian and Veritas. Their part in this story didn't really inspire me to want to run off and buy the new series, but maybe I'll change my mind when it gets closer to publication. We'll see. For this finale to the Night Prince series I can only give three stars. I liked it.

Oh i'm so sad this series is over. I feel like there was so much going on constantly there weren't enough moments to really feel Vlad and Leila as a couple. There's one or two moments per book and I suppose I was hoping for a bit more for the end of the series. I just want more fluff without the stress of Leila's life being in danger I suppose. The first book really lingers on them together and I think I just miss it.

It’s over and somehow I want it to continue! Four stars because I couldn’t put it down.
Finally we are going to see how Vlad and Leila wrest control of her life from Mircea. Only, you don’t expect the new and exciting information on Leila’s heritage which is going to play a big part later. You even feel a twinge if sympathy for the diabolical Mircea. I still don’t like him but I can get it.
Vlad is still fighting to merge with the 21st century since his love is a strong minded 21st century woman, it doesn’t always work with spectacularly macabre results. Awesome!
Go read it and finish the unlikely love story that will set you up for the next round of characters.

This is the last in the Dark Prince series but it was the capper on a great little series. I love all the characters from the Night Huntress, Night Prince and the next spin-off trilogy Night Rebel.
You absolutly cannot go wrong with Jeaniene Frost when it comes to Paranormal Romance. There isn't a book in the Night Huntress World that I haven't read or didn't like. Such an easy fun time. This is a go-to author for when you are in a book slump and just need to read something you KNOW you will love.

A brilliant, action-packed, and romantic conclusion to a great series.

Best book so far involving Vlad and Leila, and the last it seems; we have a lot of friends back to help them like Mencheres and my favorite ever: Ian! The plot is good and there is a lot of action, plus not so much useless sex and enough love. What I also appreciate is that next book is finally going to be Ian's one and I like Veritas also, so I'm looking forward to read it!

Nice wrap up and lead
Vlad and Leila end in a battle that is interesting and leaves some openings for later appearances. Quick pacing moves the characters along nicely and the zig zags in the plots help keep it fresh.
