Loved it! This was the best of the series and mostly due to Ian! Lol. An awesome read and a somewhat ending to the bedlam that keeps happening to Vlad and Leila. Poor Leila, she just can't seem to catch a break. In this book, Ms. Frost introduces Ian and he was an utter delight. I am gad that his story continues on in the next series. He was quite an interesting character and I cannot wait to hear more about him. I have not read the Night Huntress series with Cat and Bones and I will get to that series very soon but I didn't feel lost, so that was a good thing. I really enjoyed Vlad and Leila. 5 stars!!!

Boring, undeveloped, boring, cheap plot devices, immature, boring... 10x
Or is it just me who has grown out of this genre?
I decided to read the last one only because of Ian, but even he was reduced to a fucked-up manwhore... the unlikable one.
This book was as bad as the previous three, there was no chemistry, which only emphasized Frost's bad writing even further. I mean, I never liked her writing but adored the chemistry between the characters.
This book made me loose interest in Ian's upcoming series...

Vlad's bride, Leila, finds herself physically linked to a necromancer named Mircea. Vlad can't hurt or kill Mircea because whatever happens to Mircea will happen to Leila in return. So they must get help to break the powerful spell so that they can finally take out Mircea without hurting her. Along the way, they also learn more about Leila's powerful heritage.
I enjoyed this last book in the Night Prince series. It was intense and also interesting to see more witchcraft and spells brought into the storyline. I also liked the inclusion of Ian as a primary character and helper in the story, which paves the way for his own series (the Night Rebel series).
It was another intense ride and a good conclusion to the series. I liked Leila and Vlad. They definitely aren't Cat and Bones. And they aren't my favorite couple either. But their series was good overall -- action packed and well developed. I liked that we learned more about Leila's background in this one too. Really cool.
Overall I'd definitely recommend the series to Night Huntress fans. I don't think you HAVE to read that series to read this, but I do recommend it because that series is amazing.
UPDATE: I have since read Ian's Night Rebel series too and it's AWESOME-- even better than this series, in my opinion. So definitely check that out if you haven't already.

End of the series. Leila and Vlad together. HEA. What more is there to say about that?
The book is a bit of a mess. And, likely, it had to be.
Vlad is definitely still Vlad. Incredibly dangerous and willing to do (or kill) ANYONE to preserve his people and now, even above that, to protect Leila.
Leila keeps getting more powerful, and sometimes that is quite problematic.
A good chunk of the book is getting the structure and the characters and the plot sequence set up for Ian and Veritas' book arc, next to come. That somewhat fragments this book, but it is a necessary seque.
There are also other loose ends hanging out there for other future books (like Gretchen).
Some of the plot actions were really problematic and I am not sure the characters would have done them.
Anyways, a mixed book.

Love Jeaniene Frost. Love the Night Huntress world. An exciting installment in the Night Prince series (featuring Leila and Vlad).

Surprisingly, out of the whole series, I think I liked this one the most. And this would have to do with the inclusion of Ian and Mencheres. I practically died from laughter of many of scenes.... mostly thanks to Ian. It also brought me more love for Mencheres who I was never able to get close to. If I hadn't re-read his standalone book already this year I would definitely give it another go.
Unfortunately, I still barely care about any of the new side characters.. besides Maximus I guess, and even Leila I am lukewarm to.
This book also made me EXTREMELY excited for Ian's book and made me ship Ian and Veritas even more. I am so so so excited to see how he gets out of his predicament.
