I’m glad that loose ends were tied up for the most part but the story felt rushed. I didn’t like how long Silvia “hated” Kier and then suddenly didn’t. I feel like there could’ve been more of a build up.

Regardless, I don’t regret reading it because I needed to know what happened. More grammatical errors than the first book but I was able to read past them.

Better than the first one! Better plot and action! But that’s about it. Still seems like a juvenile writer and the book had potential to be so much better

Save yourself the time and brain cells, very little will be explained from the first to the second book. Character development is non-existent, plot holes abundant, and disappointment abound with how things are shoved to the side for sex. Just, don’t.

Fun but the end of the book so rushed like the author was like wrap it up

One of my favorites of 2023

I read this duet in less than 2 days. I couldn't put it down. Keir immediately had my attention and visualizing her relationship with Sylvia was so perfectly written that I can't recall a romance so raw and realistically built (regardless of genre). This is honestly an amazing world that Elle Mae created and she brought it to life with such finesse... I can't ever form the words. Its a true 5 star read! I can't wait to see what Mae brings next.

i should have dnf'd this. by the end i was just pushing through out of spite.  i thought the first book was entertaining with a decent premise, but read like a rough draft. this is so much worse. you can tell that she didn't actually want to be writing this and gave up early on. there's no way it even got read over in any way, just finished and immediately posted to KU. several typos, so much repetition in word choice & sentence structure. this author would greatly benefit from learning more about showing vs telling. this is just a bunch of tropes held loosely together by a weak, meandering plot. usually, the spicy scenes are the only well written parts of this author's books (where all the attention to detail was devoted lmao), but those are even lacking here. i liked keir enough in book 1 to force myself to finish this, but had to skim the last 40% because it had become barely readable.
