torn about this book, I wanted to read this for sooo long and i finally did... and I'm kinda disappointed? I listened to the audiobook in 2 days and i honestly think that it's better for it to be read slowly, because otherwise it kinda feels like how binging a show feels like.
let me be clear, it's very entertaining, it's jus that to me it feels like i needed more to happen? it feels kinda incomplete. also i don't always understand the characters' motivations and behaviour... like, serena, I don't really understand anything about her...

This novel is about two college students that learn that if you have a Near Death Experience (NDE) you end up getting some sort of super power. They have a falling out and it is many years later and Eli, one of the men, is looking to kill other ExtraOrdinary people that are like him. The other guy, Victor, is looking to get revenge on Eli.
This was a Mom Advice book club pick and I really had no idea what it was going to be about going in. I'm not much of a fan of fantasy and superhero type novels, but I really liked this book. I thought that the beginning of the plot reminded me a lot of the movie Flatliners, but it definitely takes a turn from that. I thought that it was interesting to have people get super powers after having a NDE. I loved how the chapters were so short because it kept the pacing fast, which really helped with the story and made me not want to put it down. There are a lot of unlikable characters in this novel, but you do end up rooting for one side over another. I think that my teen boys would enjoy this novel.

I absolutely love this book but at the same time I absolutely hate the characters. I could not put this book down. How is that even possible??? There’s crack in this book or something
