At last I have finished the final work Stephen King wrote of Roland and the Dark Tower. This short story was set before the main series, but it felt like coming home again. I either need more from him, or to write my own.

Then again, I suppose every story of his is one of the Dark Tower, in his own way.

This definitely doesn't do the story justice. Roland saying his thoughts out loud is just annoying, especially since there's already a narrator who could say these things, or better yet just let the pictures tell the story without unnecessary dialogue.
And changes made to the order of the story, especially seeing the sisters in their true form before Roland even wakes up in the hospital ruins the mystery of the story.
The art isn't that great either. The slow mutants are basically just green people. I'd expect them to look more gross and interesting.

The art was so so. The idea of this story is good, and I liked the interplay of the western and the magic. Overall, I feel the Gunslinger was a much better traditional book to read than it is as a comic. The flow seems stilted, and the violence is overdone.

This was actually pretty good. Eluria wasn't my favourite story, but I liked seeing Jenna in the flesh, even if the trend of every single one of Roland's lovers dying/leaving him is stale.

I don't like too much the art of these comics anf I really like the books much more than the comics. This part is probably one of the weakest comics of the series, but I liked to see a little different and less tougher Roland.

Much better than the previous one, and the reason is obvious: it's based on an original Stephen King novella (which unfortunately I haven't been able to track down). Here's hoping that the next book will be better, as it will be based on stuff from The Gunslinger (the book).

A fun, quick short story with Roland as protagonist, but nothing especially amazing here.
