Seriously why do I love these books so much.

Good stuffs: The hero and the cat and oh my gosh the monsters. This entire story world how is it this perfect. All the depth and...realness. I felt like i was right there. ANd I loved May. A lot.

Bad stuffs: Um....i actually don't know.

Villain: Ok so some would say the bogeyman is cheesy....but he isn't he isn't.... He's creepy oh my goodness.

Hero: May is amazing and just....she's so quirky and fun to follow along.

And i can't really say anything else but seriously I read these a long time ago and now I want to reread them. The last one will hurt you.

I felt some empathy for May Bird, and her life, but what really drew me into this book was curiosity about the Ever After and ghosts and everything that goes along with it, which was fascinating.

I also have to admit, I dearly loved Somber Kitty (even if not especially in those moments early in the book when he seems to merely frustrate and exasperate May herself with his loyalty and affection) and I loved that we got to follow pieces of his adventure along with May's. The narrow escape and high drama at the end of the book captured my attention and emotion more when it focused on poor, alone Somber Kitty than on the other group, to be honest.

I was only mildly frustrated when I reached the end of the book and found that I evidently should have made sure to have book two on hand to begin immediately. I knew it was part of a series, but I didn't know it was going to be one of those that ends on not-quite-a-cliffhanger!

petualangan alice may di wonderland negeri ever after.

ceritanya nanggung bingit, gak dapet horornya, gak dapet adventurenya, berasa may kesana kesini gak ketahuan juntrungannya. tokoh yg manggil may ke negeri ini jg smp akhir gak muncul dan gak jelas siapa atau motivasinya apa....

This book terrified me when I was in 5th grade and when I reread it last year in 12th it STILL terrified me. The whole series was so hard to get through for a wimp like me, but the story is A+ and I love May forever and ever amen.

Cut for what could be considered a slight spoiler.

I work at a local school, and I bought the 2nd book in the series, May Bird Among the Stars at the book fair because it was $2 and I thought it looked interesting. I then bought this book from Amazon.com so I could start the series at the beginning.

It was a little slow to get going, but once it did, wow! This book is quite a roller coaster ride. By turns sweet, sad, creepy and funny, you never quite knew what was coming at you next. Ms. Anderson has crafted a very vivid world in the Ever After, and I cannot wait to start reading the next book. The main problem I had was that I wanted May and Somber Kitty (awesome name, btw) to be reunited much, much sooner than they were.

A sidenote: Younger readers (10 and under perhaps) could find this book to be a bit scary, depending to the nature of the individual reader, of course. I, myself, found it to be delightfully creepy.

I just saw this book on my bookshelf and realized I had to write a review for it, even if it has been years.

This, ladies and gentlemen, was my first book to read and own. (Other than my Winnie the Pooh books from when I was a toddler). I was 7 years old whenever I first read this, and this book made me fall in love with reading. I re-read it 6 years later and still loved it. I would love to personally thank Jodi Lynn Anderson for opening me to the world of books I now live in. This is still one of my all-time-favorites, and has a special place on my bookshelf. I still have yet to read the rest of the trilogy though.

I would recommend this to everyone! It is a lovely read that I always enjoy re-reading from time to time.
