Honestly I don't mind the second book in a trilogy a lot of the times. A lot of people have found this one slow but I have no issue with it. Most of the time it's cause I become comfortable enough with the characters that I don't mind spending time with them. Apart from the fact that I enjoyed it I really don't have much to say.

Not sure I’m going to be continuing on with this series yet. This book just felt like unnecessary filler. The first 75percent of the book felt unneeded. I had a very hard time staying focused with this one.

let’s just say that the first book was way better but this was also vital to the plot.
it felt almost as if this was a necessary read for the plot to finally start unveiling itself.

laura sebastian does an amazing job at world building and i will forever appreciate her for the details she put into the books but sometimes it felt as if i needed less details on what they were wearing/where they were and more on what they were doing.

amazing plot twists, there were genuinely parts where i gasped and had to re-read because i simply could not believe what was happening.

theodosia is finally standing up to the queen she is supposed to be and i have high expectations for the last book!

I just couldn't get into it. I was mixed on the first book, and the second did not fix what I disliked about the characters. They're so flat and hateful.

I'm so curious on how Theo's story is going to end. This book reminded me of a season of the bachelorette but with a twist of murder. If you love love triangles this book is right up your alley, it reminded me of all the feelings I had while reading twilight and Bella having feelings for both Edward and Jacob. Ends in a major cliffhanger and I can't wait to finish this trilogy.
