Five stars isn’t enough!!
From the ultimate enemies to lovers trope, character development & the characters themselves is phenomenal! With the romance between Wolf-Shifter Levi and vampire Tasha, who have forever been immortal enemies. The steaminess factor. There are numerous books written similarly - but none to this degree. The twists & the turns. Coming together for impending damage and danger to all? What more could you ask for. The plot line was continued and the romance, stayed prominent but you also didn’t lose the plot line within. I read this book in less than 24 hours - and I enjoyed every second of this! I cannot wait for the rest of the series. I’m invested

This is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles and follows the story of Tasha and Levi. It is a vampire and Lycan forbidden love story. The book from the beginning sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. I have read plenty Lycan/Vampire forbidden love, but this book was insanely different and nothing like I have read before.

There are a few steamy scenes, lots of suspense and action, and includes hidden agendas, drama, and of course magic!

Tasha is a young vampire with unique abilities unlike anyone else in her species. She is trying to protect her younger sister from their leader and is willing to sacrifice everything, that is, until she met Levi.

The book is told mainly from Tasha's POV, but there are a few chapters where we get to be inside Levi's mind and see how he feels about Tasha.

So much time has passed since they first seen each other. Will the feel the same after ten years? Will they succeed in find out what is killing every person they know? Will they meet in Paris? Will they end the war between their species?

Love, Love, Love this book and cannot wait to run and read book 2!

If you pass this book up because you judge it by its cover/synopsis (you know better!) you will miss out terribly! While this genre is a very popular one with most of the books having somewhat of a cookie cutter approach, this book stands out in the paranormal romance crowd. The author does such a fantastic job pulling you into the world of lycans and vampires. I felt like I was experiencing the story instead of reading it, which is incredibly hard to accomplish with paranormal books in my opinion. I’m already on my way to pick up the second book in the series!

The first book in a series that I was excited to read,
We are introduced to a variety of characters Tasha, a vampire who is about to age into the military to join in the war against the Lycans.
The war has been going on for so long that no one remembers why they are battling, but battle they do.
Before her time to sign up she wanders the forest of Guyana where she comes across and survives meeting Levi.
After a few weeks they agree that in 20 years time they will meet in Paris, but fate has something else in store for them.
The Characters are well written and the world building is very picturesque.
They find out who they are truly fighting, and the twisted members of their own species.
A truly all encompassing book. I am lucky enough to be able to go straight into book 2.

Intricate complexity. This is the first book I have read by the talented C.R. Robertson, and I feel it was the perfect series for me personally to be introduced to her work. Forbidden Wolf is the first book in the Shadow Chronicles series. It is a supernatural retelling of Romeo and Juliet to a degree. Told primarily from Tasha’s perspective we are given glimpses of Levi’s letting the reader know he feels the same as her.
Vampire Tasha is about to turn twenty-one, the age for conscription into the army, to fight in a war she doesn’t believe in. Lycan Levi is also twenty-one and about to join his species army for the war when during their last summer everything changes. Tasha was never like the other girls her age; boys never really caught her attention, but she was prepared for the next twenty years to carry out her duty to her coven and species. Twenty years being mandatory service time in the army and breeding programs before being allowed to follow your own specialties or to be free. Levi is different from the others in his pack. He has black fur and mentions that the color of your wolf is tied to your abilities, he is often left alone. One fateful night changes everything either of them had been raised to believe. Thinking the bite of the other would kill them Tasha and Levi indulge in conversation with the enemy, but after talking and he protects her from the sun she is conflicted and questioning everything she had ever been told. Levi was stunned by the creature that is Tasha, he had been raised believing vampires were savage monsters and yet she was the gentlest, most caring thing he had ever seen. A plan for twenty years when their mandatory conscription is over, they will meet in Paris under the Eiffel Tower and once again just be lovers having a reunion. Time jumps accord five years and then ten. Ten years later Tasha and Levi are reunited on the battlefield. Both species are being savagely slaughtered by something new.
Ten years have passed, do they still feel the same for each other? Can Levi and Tasha succeed in finding out what is killing everyone they know? Will they rekindle what they had that summer in the forest? The world the author describes not only conjures the images in your mind but sometimes the smells. The characters leave nothing and everything on the table, their complexity not only personally but how they interact and react to the same situations is relatable and understandable. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down and now I cannot wait to begin book two, Forbidden Mate, to see what happens next for Tasha and Levi and how they confront what’s coming next.

This is the first book in the Shadow Chronicles series, and it was great. I was hooked from the beginning.
The characters are well-written and they their development as they are hardened by their experiences is believable. I really love Tasha and Levi together; they have chemistry, they’re sweet and it’s forbidden which makes it even more exciting.
I enjoyed the way the book was written, the writing flows well, things are clear and described well. I could envision clear pictures of the scenery from the author’s words.
Straight onto book 2!

When you start reading this book you think you know how this story is going to play out.

Mortal enemies fall in love, go off to war, fight for each other and happily ever after

BUT that is the start of the story but oh does it get good. There are twists and turns you don’t expect and this book completely grips you. Can’t wait to read book 2.

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles 1) by CR Robertson was a privilege to read! This has been one of my favorite reads for the year. The characters are so easy to like, love, dislike, and love again. The writing is so descriptive and vivid that i could literally imagine everything that was happening and “see” everyone.

The storyline is addicting and I could NOT put this book down! For fans of the movie Underworld- I would definitely recommend this book. It’s sexy and addicting. I plan to reread it soon and I can NOT wait to read the rest!

I truly enjoyed reading this book! I was sucked in immediately with the young love that was forbidden and their promise to meet up years later. The author did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life in my mind and their inner struggles to survive. Admittedly, I am a sucker for strong male characters that find their mates and will go to any length to protect them.

Cannot wait for the next book!!

Forbidden Wolf is a new form of paranormal romance. I have NEVER read a book like this before! It grows past mere lingering looks and infatuation to a whole new level of devotion. This story matures into a revolutionary tale that breaks the mold. It is ABSOLUTELY worth the time to read this ground-breaking novel. I will say that the beginning was a little slow, but oh my goodness did it take off! And ALL the feels!!
