I think that the plot summary that I read oversold the nature of this book. I assumed that the stories would become real and affect peoples lives in someway. They didn’t. Although there are ghost of assort in this book, no one‘s changed by what they experience. I kept wondering how stories would resolve themselves which is what kept me interested but many stories did not resolve themselves. They simply petered out the book kept me interested and I’m glad I read it, but I can’t truly recommend this book. I don’t really understand what the writer to convey. Does she think that writers own the stories of everyone, whether people want their stories or not? Most of the women were passive, even Alma, our main character. The most interesting part was the first chapter. I wish that those theme circled back more.
