I enjoyed the story premise, but I feel like more could have been done with it. I kept hoping that Alma and Filomena would talk about the buried stories and Alma would start writing again, but instead Alma's story ended very sadly and without resolution. Also, because there were so many different story lines the reader had to follow at once, it was difficult to keep track of everything. I thought this story was going to be something else, and I think that's why I'm left a little disappointed.

I really like the idea of this book, that everyone (and everything) has their own stories and that some people are born story tellers but also that you still need listeners to hear each story. I liked how the book focused on Alma and her cemetery but that it also took turns into the stories of other characters. Everyone was the main character of their own story and yet they were all connected in some way.

Nice story. All those Spanish lessons on Duolingo helped a bit.
