This was a beautiful novel for so many different reasons. It mostly covers storytelling—the stories we tell ourselves, the stories we present to the world, and the stories we know are true (and might be in denial about).
The characters we read about all connect in seemingly subtle ways that turn out to be bigger connections later. Their stories feel real, as so do their struggles and loneliness.
As a writer, I loved the idea of unfinished stories coming to life in different ways—are people’s stories ever really finished? And how do they change even after those people aren’t here to tell them anymore?
I loved that this novel makes you stop and think about so many things and dives into the gray areas of humanity, about how our past drives us to make choices for the future.

a story exploring the power of stories, their telling, their tellers by an experienced crafter of stories. The telling of stories as a means of survival…
It reminds me of how this kind of Lit used to be more in my realm of regular reading. It was effortless, nice, w/shocking and disturbing twists and some predictably sad turns.
