What I liked:
The historical parts about the Dominican Republic…things I was never aware of in history.
The overall concept of what an author might do with unfinished stories and just how many of them they may have.
What I didn’t like….
I thought there were too many stories and flipping from one to another without a link felt fragmented. I didn’t feel like the “author” character got enough attention in the book…she could have been better fleshed out.
I also didn’t care for the ending.
But, I liked it enough to want to try another book by this author because of the historical fiction aspect.

Very interesting book. The concept alone is fantastic. A bit slow to get to the meat of the story. Great characters, but I struggled a bit with the amount of Spanish woven in.

Really wanted to get through this book because the ideas such a cool one, but to me there was too much happening. The character were very much overlapping one another in terms of story and narrative throughout the first half of this book that I read, but I honestly could not keep a clear track of what was going on. Perhaps this is an audiobook versus an ebook/ physical book issue. So maybe I'll try to come back to it at a later time with reading it rather than listening to the audio version to see if that is a better way to consume this novel
