A pretty easy quick read but one that was infuriating a lot of the time. The absolute repetition of the list was my least favourite thing. But Jay being such a self centred character with such tunnel vision made it different to really enjoy a book from his perspective. Albert, Max and Lou were much more interested characters imo.

Another thing that bothered me was Max was introduced as genderqueer and as using he/she pronouns but then throughout the book no character ever used she only ever he. It felt like the she was an important part of max who referred to herself as "femme" and as having a female soul. It was a shame to see that then essentially ignored.

The time period of this book also seemed a bit rushed. Jay somehow seems to make these lifelong connections and mess literally everything up in just over a month?

Max's interest in astrology was fun though and I liked the comments he made about virgos and Geminis. As a Gemini with a virgo parent, I could relate somewhat haha.

Also I adored Jay's dad, it was great seeing parents who have been together a long time still deeply in love as well as seeing a guy taking the career break while his wife was being promoted.

The backdrop of Seattle was my favourite thing about the book. I went on holiday there last year so I loved being able to picture the places there were talking about.

Oh and the fake pokemon go game? Amazing.

this book made me wanna scream at jay like why is he so immature he is 18 years old good lord </3 like im sorry but i dont care if youve never been in a relationship before, most people know just by default that sleeping with someone else while youre going on dates with another person is Maybe not the Best Decision to make. like hello??? baby you grew up in washington, not on mars

also this book managed to be sex focused while feeling like it was written for children. HOW is that possible. im a little bit in awe
