A fun, sweet gay romance. It’s fun to see Jay experiencing his first foray into queer culture and dating, and to see the way he navigates complex relationships. There was a huge obsession with sex, but it worked alright. The agenda didn’t translate well to an audio format because it became tedious to listen to every time. I also thought it was odd that Max introduced in the start that he uses he/she pronouns but it never comes up again.
Moderate: Bullying
Minor: Blood, Homophobia, and Vomit

I have very mixed feelings about this one, as an adult reader, I enjoyed it, and I can see how this book could really speak to teens both in a very sex-positive way, and how to avoid the number one way to ruin a relationship -by lying. However, some things were really great, some things weren't, but overall I think this book has good morals and the MC learns from his mistakes and has good character growth.
Content warnings that are not included in storygraph: cheating but without a DTR (define the relationship) and the virginity talk was very heteronormative for a very gay book.
Content warnings that are not included in storygraph:
Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Infidelity
Minor: Death of parent, Vomit, Blood, and Racism
