okay this wasn’t bad. i just was not the target audience. there were too many references to high school musical the musical the tv series and i am not of that generation. it felt very like angus thongs and perfect snogging but queer and although that’s a slay i am too old for this

DNF @25%-ish
No bad blood with the book at all, just not my style! I bought this last year fresh off of the "getting my first Kindle" high so buying any book I was mildly interested in that was $1.99 was very common. I thought the premise sounded really cute, but I can't get behind the writing style, and for some reason, this book's reviews include so many spoilers without warning and I don't really need to read the book to know how it ends. My bad for reading reviews, I guess!
I don't read YA contemporary much anymore due to the writing style and the way characters are written in a quirky manner to appeal to its audience. This is once again my bad, as I bought the book myself, thinking I'd enjoy it, and when I realized a YA book would be a bit juvenile for my taste, I immediately DNF.
Overall, I'm sure it's great, but the top reviews spoil the entire plot so I don't feel the need to read a book when I already know everything.

Fun
It was a fun read, I liked Jay wasn't perfect, a lot of time we expect perfect characters, but no one is, and specially teenagers they are trying to find themselves and sometimes don't make the best decisions, but he made mistakes and then he own them, and learned from them.
