What the fucking fuck just happened? I started reading it this morning and I've already finished it. I was trying to squeeze in some last-minute reading, not read a whole book in one sitting.
The book wasn't that original, filled with dystopian/fantasy tropes. But it was well-written enough that I could not stop reading. It shows that the author is a screenwriter, because it read like a movie.

I need the second book. I wanted to read this book ever since I heard about it. In the beginning, the book didn't match up to the high expectation that I had for it. The more I read and the more I understood, the more I saw why I wanted to read it and why others were reading it. Many parts did make me confused but I am super glad I got to read it. The library needs to hurry up and get the second book!!!
I LOVE this world. The characters are awesome. I have two new princes to add to my list of princes. Nikolai, Cardan, Elm/Renelm, and now Cal and Maven (even if one is a little evil). The plot of this book is great, especially because I normally think undiscovered powers is an okay trope. It would have been 5 stars, but I thought the beginning was a little slow. Obsessed!
Definitely wish it hadn’t felt so rushed and had been fleshed out a little more but still very much enjoyed.

Probably one of the best books I've read in a while. Even though at the end I wanted to strangle Maven...but I should've expected it. I really liked Mare and Maven's relationship and hated whenever Cal and Mare would kiss. But since Maven betrayed them, I probably won't mind it f Cal and Mare become a thing. I can't wait to read the next one!

I loved this one more then the Cruel Crown book that I fully didn't get into. After reading this one I understood more of the novella. This action packed book was great the way she talked about what was going on was great. This is a perfect young adult book for looking into the ideas of making peace between everyone no matter the biology behind someone.
