Diana is the senior partner at a very successful law firm that she was instrumental in building.
Laurie is looking for a new job, wanting to study law. She applies for the post of personal assistant to Diana.
Even though there are really only two characters in the book, all the other characters being quite minor, it’s a complex book, very much character and relationship driven.
Diana and Laurie are both focussed, intense women, each in their own way. If you like strong women, a very slow build up to some very erotic scenes, and control being shared between the characters in different situations, this is a good book to read. One of the stand-out points in this story is the wonderful soul searching and coming out of Diana. It’s a great pity that it was pushed by circumstances, but the feelings are so intense well handled.

This one’s a bit tricky to review. If I were reviewing it purely as an erotic novel, it’d be a solid 4/5. But as a romance novel? Probably closer to a 3/5.

The steamy scenes were definitely the highlight—and there were plenty of them. The romance, however, felt a bit forced, with a lot of unnecessary drama that could have easily been avoided in real life. It seemed like the conflict was there just to give the story structure beyond the sex.

That said, the book was undeniably well-written and enjoyable, especially if you’re looking for something heavy on the heat!
