Enjoyed the Greg Rucka issues, the Nightwing issues, and the Young Justice tie-in.

Hit or miss. Some stuff good, like the Ivy part. Rest forgettable or bad. Didn't really advance the story other than gather the family together.

Oh, Catwoman!

Apparently at this point the world thought Selina Kyle was dead and that she was pushed off a roof by Catwoman. I don't know how that move was pulled off, but it seems that she got by just fine. It's not like she's Peter Parker trying to get a science degree. She's an International Jewel Thief. As opposed to a Tri-State Area Jewel Thief. So her human alter ego probably doesn't really matter too much.

At one point in this particular caper, she assembles a crew of three crazy dudes, and as they prepare for the big job they check into a fancy hotel where Catwoman promptly retires to the bathtub in order to study some files.

I DO find that nothing helps me unwind from being a Jewel Thief with 3 strange men in the next room who may try to kill me, nothing helps me unwind from that better than a nice bubble bath while reading files.

I have to ask because I just want to make sure I'm not way outside the norm here. What is the average person's ratio of bubble baths to non-bubble? Because I don't think I've ever taken a bubble bath since I've been old enough to purchase bubble bath. Is Mr. Bubble still a guy? Is that a preferred brand?

Because in TV and comics it seems like every bath is a bubble bath.

I DO darken the water with dye so as not to be disgusted by my repulsive nude body. But that's just me.

Batman finally sucks it up and decides to call for help. Which means more capes in Gotham. Azrael is still pretty much as boring as the first volume, except now he's boring in Gotham. And Young Justice were annoying. Kind of neutral on Robin and Nightwing. Liked the fact that Poison Ivy made an appearance. As well as Catwoman. And Cass Cain takes up the Batgirl identity. Batman's banter with Mr. Freeze was bordering on painful though. Mostly I wished there was more GCPD going on. There's some interesting stuff there, but they were mostly in the background in this volume. Also I'd like more Huntress.

Too long, too full of ugly looking side-stories that add nothing to the plot.

Very much a mixed bag. Unfortunately, much less substance overall than volume 1.

I enjoyed this compilation a lot more. This volume actually gives more information about the setup of "No Man's Land": Nick Scratch (for some reason) convinced the government to abandon & isolate Gotham City. Azrael (his nemesis?) has followed him to Gotham to deal with him.

Gotham is still dealing with having its entire infrastructure gutted, but there are at least a couple of comic-relief type stories thrown in for fun. We also get a new Batgirl - one with way less drama. Sadly, I'm assuming this is mostly due to her being nearly mute, rather than having a stable personality. But let's be honest, it's not the down-to-earth reasonable types that are going to throw everything to the wind & don a spandex suit to face off against psychopaths.

Vol 3 here I come!
