I loved this book, that feeling comes from feeling like target audience.
You'll also enjoy this if you like magic, demons, murder mystery, and brave female leads.

The only reason this book didn't get five stars was because I felt the unanswered questions to answered questions  atio was too skewed. A few too many unanswered questions for my liking; although, I can see the author is pacing the mystery amongst the series. I like my books ending a little more wrapped up.

I didn't know what to expect from this book but I enjoyed it quite a bit. The time period was interesting and giving her enemies on like all sides between demons and the church was a nice twist. I think the pacing was a bit more rushed at the end. But I was able to see the peices clicking into place, and was able to see why she made the decisions she did. I saw alot of people saying that the character was too impulsive. But I found that that was more fitting to her, she's for one, 18. Eighteen year olds are insanely impulsive. And after the loss of her sister she speaks to the fact that she feels if she stops moving she won't start again. I think it fell in line with her character well. Excited to see where it goes from here.

I didn’t love it… but it was blessedly short and I felt the need to get through it because it offers a lot of important character information after I read Throne of the Fallen (which I thought was a new series but actually is a continuation of this series but no longer YA). I hated feeling like I was missing a lot of details and inside references in throne of the fallen, but since I’m planning to continue that series… gonna have to trudge through this one.

The decisions made by the centuries old princes of sin make me question their intelligence. How could they possibly be rulers of kingdoms when their day to day actions make no sense. And the prince of wrath is awfully patient and understanding for someone who I would imagine is quick to anger…. I understand that’s probably cause he wouldn’t be swoon worthy if he had anger issues, but it would be more true to his sin. It’s just hard to look past these little things overall

The premise/idea of this book was very intriguing and it had the potential to be so much more but the execution just fell flat. I was really hyped to read this book but it read as very YA-ish, and somwhat predictable. I like Wrath and Emilia a lot, but I felt like we needed more depth to Wraths character. Overall a 3.5 star read.
