Amazing story that was so visually perfect in its descriptions, sometimes the pace could slow a little but it always pulled you straight back in. I love books about the East and I’m so happy so many more are available now, this is a must read, interesting and such an epic story

This was like reading a kungfu movie. It was fun, if a bit long and meandering. It’s an epic, and so characterization and that emotional connection aren't quite there. (We see Temujin — who becomes Genghis Khan — give back the gifts given to him by his sworn brother after said brother’s betrayal, thereby ending one of his most important relationships. I felt nothing.) I liked Elder Eternal Spring Ma Yu (I think that’s his name — he taught Guo Jing to use his neigong.)
I don't know if I can read the next book to find out what happens, though.

Wonderful English translation of a classic
Like most English speakers, I am familiar with Legend of the Condor Heroes because of Chinese television. While you gain an appreciation for the literary work from the shows, you will not get the context and details and that went into the story. The story, while fictional, is deeply rooted in history. This is something you don't quite appreciate as Westerner watching a video. I highly recommend this translation to fans of wuxia, but I think fans of epic fantasy may want to give it a try.

Entertaining and action-packed, lots of drama and fights. The historical background was well woven into the general narrative. Fans of Chinese fantasy/martial arts TV series or people already familiar with this type of story will enjoy, but I could see the storytelling style and ample descriptions of kung-fu moves being a little daunting to newcomers to the genre. Going in, I was a bit worried after seeing comments questionning the quality of the English translation, but I found the flow of the writing to be very good

This was fun.
This was way too chaotic, all over the place, and plot-driven for my character and theme-driven personality. I just didn't vibe at all with this book. It might be the translation, but I doubt it should influence me that much.
Really hoped I will love it but unfortunately, I DNFd it at 40% and I'm not sure I will ever go back, it felt like a drudgery reading it. I don't even know if I should rate it, tbh, I'll probably just add this review and that's it.

tenía mucho tiempo sin luchar tanto para acabar un libro, tiene cambios drasticos en la manera en que es narrada la historia, aparición y desaparición exceciva de personajes con poco o nulo desarrollo, hay sucesos iimportantes relatados en una pagina y sucesos aparentemente irrelevantes descritos detalladamente, destacable la forma en que son descritas las peleas.
