I loved the Greek mythology and the dark academia vibes in The Maidens!
Not sure how I feel about the ending though...

Idk. I tore through it but it was kind of formulaic and felt very much like a book you read on an airplane.
fast-paced
I’m flabbergasted. What the fuck was this?
It started really slow but half way through I got really into it, I really wanted to know who killed these girls with so much thought. And how they did it. I knew who it was because it was the least obvious person, but the why really knocked the wind out of me. And I gotta say, even though it was a really good plot twist, it came out of nowhere. Like, we were not given any indication or minuscule clue on how terrible these people really were. It felt like the bad end of a joke honestly. Came out of nowhere with little to no explanation. Like the author was just looking for something that would make the reader gasp but forget to explain it and describe how it came to be. Also, after the book being entirely about Fosca, he was forgotten for the last part of the book. A conversation between him and Mariana explaining everything he did would’ve been nice.
The end felt rushed.
