anything john gwynne writes i will buy. this is a series written for me—found family, strong character development, really weird animal friends, and some of the best battle scenes i’ve ever read.

i am not an audiobook girlie normally, but john gwynne’s writing style really benefits from being listened to and damian lynch’s narration is superb. i highly recommend listening to this series if you have that option.

Malice for me anyway, was a slow burner of a fantasy book it took its time to get going ,but left you totally gripped because John spent so much time developing his characters. Most will finish Malice wanting to find out what happened next, and Valour is something to savour.

An epic fantasy novel John deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the current forerunners in fantasy and Im sure his new book Shadow of the Gods will prove that. A little genre break and Ill be back for Ruin.
