The author is reflecting on the loss of her father, as well as meeting and falling in love with her wife. She has a romanticized view of the world, which I struggle to relate to (I related more to her stoic wife). But the writing is beautiful and poetic - she writes in a poetic matter and also quotes several poets. It was a wholesome and heartfelt read and caused me to reflect on my love and loss.

I shed more tears reading this than I was expecting to, but was a really great read after these past few years of loss. Would recommend to anyone

I really disliked this book. The "found" and "and" was much more enjoyable than "lost" but I still had trouble forcing myself through it. I would not have finished it if it hadn't been a boon chosen by my book club. The other members of my boom club also did not enjoy it.

I wanted to give this book a better review. Quite honestly, it is beautifully written, but I just didn't connect with it. I would have appreciated this souch more as an essay (or even two!) instead, I got bogged down in every minute detail. I found myself desperately waiting for this book to end so I could move on to the next. Perhaps if I was in a different headspace this might have been better received. 5 star writing turned into a two star book. I upped the rating because of my guilty conscience.

One of the loveliest books I have ever read. Just a beautiful reflection on life’s challenges and meaning, the self and identity.
