The Miles series has made LMB one of my favourite authors of all time, but I didn't love this. I enjoyed it, but it didn't have the wow factor that sets her Miles books apart...

I read this much too fast and want to go back and reread it now.

I LOVE this series. Love it. I couldn't wait for this book to come out. And in the end, I did enjoy reading this one. But make no mistake: there is no plot in this book. NOTHING happens. Seriously, nothing. This book is so unlike any of the other books in the series that you might think it was written by someone else. It reads like fanfic someone wrote.

So, yeah. There's that.

An interesting conclusion to the series. It's not what i was expecting, but i find that every book in this series has been a little different. It was very wholesome.

Super fan service-y in that it wouldn't make any sense as a standalone. And if you aren't already invested in the characters, it would be kind of boring since not a whole lot happens. However, this was fan service calibrated precisely for me, so I found it immensely satisfying.

This book does not standalone well. For those who have enjoyed other novels from Cordelia's life it will be enjoyable, but it does not quite live up to the standards of A Civil Campaign. It think it is because there is less development of outside tension.

I listened to the audio version (reader: Grover Gardiner)

Enjoyable revisit to Cordelia and company. MIles wasn't as obnoxious as usual so that made me happier. Only Ivan was missing. Sigh.

I enjoyed this for its light, fluffy, comforting tale with characters I like, but it was also deeply unsatisfying. No intriguing conspiracy unravelled by brains and derring-do. No interesting weird science-y stuff. Sure, some strange and (mildly) dangerous creatures.

I agree, really, that Lois McMaster Bujold is an excellent writer, but as usual, I'm just not drawn in to the world of the Vorkosigans.

It's not annoying me enough to put down, and I (of course) love the poly content, but after 150 pages i'm still kinda wondering why i'm bothering.

A very fun look into Cordelia as she moves forward in life. Not plot heavy, but delightful nonetheless.
