Çok akıcıydı, elimden bırakamadım. Konusu da çok güzeldi.

The good -
-A new alternate reality world and new twist on vampires and angels, and a subspecies of humans called hunters.
-A good start to the background plot and politics.
-Some really good characters.

The not so good, I wouldn't call it bad, it is just what was lacking for me.
-The side characters are more interesting than the main characters. I liked Elena and Rafael but didn't love them. Their relationship building and emotions, although all through the book, just didn't have the spark/chemistry, or at least not enough of it, IMO.
-The main emphasis seemed to be relationship, not the plot, which for me denotes more a PNR than a UF, yet not much happens there either. Not that this is bad but... the relationship was more about talking about what was going to happen, which was the f word, than actually doing anything. One sex scene way past the middle, if I remember correctly. It was like she was trying for a UF and got confused so went and put a lot of talking to add in a relationship.
-The plot was somewhat simplistic- Angels need hunter to help find and destroy bad vampires. The politics were more complicated but mostly veiled in mystery, some being answered. The politics were the best part of the book actually, hence trying to be UF.
-In this reality, the angels are known to humans and are the top dog. They are uber powerful and consider humans no more than play things. The power discrepancy and feudalistic society left me a little put off.

So over all... there is a good political story going on but it only involves the angels and somewhat their vamps. The relationship was OK almost good, but not great, as the chemistry was on and off and I never loved either character. Rafael felt a little flat. Their are some very interesting supporting characters that I want to know more about but Elena and Rafael get the next 2 books. I believe their characters will develop more fully so will definitely continue the series. I am hopeful as I know Nalini Singh is a great author, who usually hits it out of the park. This one just didn't do it for me.

I love the guild hunter series and can’t believe this is the first time I’ve listened to the audio

The book was ok, but I'm torn as to whether or not I want to continue the series. I really enjoyed the main characters and the premise, but I'm not really one for the sex scenes. The story held my interest, even though I found some of the characters to be rather shallow and far from developed. If I do continue reading the series, I hope to see that the glimpses in the first book were simply introductions and that the characters are developed further.

This book had a strange concept and and a story that was hard to grasp but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good because it was it just wasn’t a story I was dying to read.

The characters definitely all had their own personalities but sometimes they were just annoying and I didn’t like them as much as I thought that I would.

I don’t know what it was but I just didn’t find myself enjoying this book as much as I did but that’s okay because there is definitely room to grow.

This doesn’t however mean I won’t give the book another chance.

I have read this book three (four?) times simply because I enjoy it so much. Now, I'd like to admit that the first time I read it, I thought it was good but just okay. I'm not sure what bothered me about it but maybe it was the fact that it is Urban Fantasy and I can be touchy with that genre. I get lost in complex plotlines sometimes because I'm blonde.

That being said, this is one of those fandoms that just haunt me. Angels aren't a new concept but there's just something about Nalini Singh's stories that just captivates. Every so often, I get thinking about Raphael and Elena and it makes me want to pick up the book again. That's probably why I've read the damn thing so many times. I should also note that I always take away something new from it too.

I love that Elena has that UF/PR badass protagonist thing going for her. She's kick ass but she has her flaws. I love that she is terrified of Raphael but still gives him hell. She doesn't make anything easy for the male lead, even though she may have feelings for him. That makes a great protagonist in my eyes.

This book has that gritty darkness to it that Urban Fantasy does so well. I especially love that Elena has this haunting history that we only get peeks into. It develops her in ways I hope we get to see more of later on. Raphael has his own angst but that's too be expect with an alpha/brooding male like him.

It should also be noted that despite the fact that I read this book 2 or 3 times before this read, I still inhaled it all in one sitting and stayed up far too late to be sane.
