Cute (and chaotic!) look into what happens when a little girl is left to her own devices and virtually unlimited money. I've read some reviews calling her a selfish brat, but honestly, what do you expect when a child is basically neglected by her gallivanting mother and left to a less-than watchful nanny who smokes and drinks around her.

2015 review:

Yes, this was a very random read. I just needed a quick break from the series I'm reading, and when I was growing up I loved watching the tv show about Eloise, so I decided to read the book. Eloise is annoying and spoiled, but she's aldo adorable and reading about her made me so nostalgic. This book doesn't even have any good morals, so I'm not sure how good it is for an actual child, but I think they would be entertained, if nothing else.

2.5 stars. Not what I expected. At times it was fun, at times it was not so much. Eloise was quite a brat, annoying as hell, spoiled to death. Not to mention I don't need to see kids in their underwear, or naked. Thank you.
The illustrations were pretty decent, I liked how they only used red and black/white. Sometimes the illustrations weren't too good, and again, no need to show us Eloise underpants that much.
The hotel sounded interesting.

I read this book as part of the Rory Gilmore reading challenge and well... Eloise is a spoiled and naughty child and apart from the cute illustrations, there was nothing remarkable about the story. Deeply disappointed.
