This book started a new thing for Kristen's books. She started adding in other voices, so that other characters were heard from more often. This point of view change happened close to the end in Jules' story but it was more prominent in Stella and Mace's story. I still don't know how I feel about it.
It didn't take anything away from the story so I guess I didn't mind it that much.
It did throw me off that there was an epilogue to this story but I didn't mind it too much because I love this series!

5 Reckoning Stars

If you’re wondering nope this isn’t my favorite one either, we are getting there. Though I did enjoy this book, I mean who wouldn’t its Mace for crying out loud.

This book is about Rock Chick Stella and Hot Guy Mace.

I think one of the things I enjoyed about this book over the others is that they were together before the book but had broken up.
So they had a different kind of past other than growing up together. Not that all the others were like that some were just connected in a different way.

Boy oh boy this book has action! This book has a lot of gun fire and suspense also quite a few twists as well I didn’t see coming.

Getting to know Stella and Mace’s story you see why they didn’t work the first time, they both kept their past to themselves. No one wanted to open up. Stella didn’t have a very loving environment growing up so when she got the affection and love from Mace she kind of used him up or that’s what she told herself.

‘For your information, it was the single most beautiful moment of my life.’ - Stella

Mace had a great sister and mother only things went bad and his sister was kidnapped and murdered in front of him. So that messed with his head a lot.

“Dance with me, Kitten,” he whispered.

None of this should be spoilers but either way I hide that encase anyone doesn’t want to know back story and wants to go in blind.

So now that things are coming to light they both still fight the pull, Stella wants them to be together then she doesn’t then Mace wants them to be together but Stella doesn’t it’s fun and witty and downright entertaining.

“Watchin’ you sing that, hearin’ the words, knowin’ what it meant, it was then I knew I loved you, Stella.”- Mace

Also 2 last things Mace calling Stella “Kitten” swoon! And the 5 years later at the end of the book with all the Rock Chicks is awesome!
Ok 3 things Jane, we get to know Jane’s character as the quiet employee that has been working at Fortnums forever. So when we get a little glimpse in to her mind.. Well I had to share.. :D

‘Jane decided in that second that Eddie and Jet were going to be her favorites for the day. She changed them every day depending on what she witnessed. Sometimes it was Lee and Indy. Other times, Hank and Roxie. Other, Jules and Vance or Luke and Ava, and now Mace and Stella. Today it was Jet and Eddie.’ - Jane :-)

Only two left! This entry was SUPER angsty and there is devastating history to be dealt with, but as usual it's all worth it in the end. And who doesn't love an epilogue?

It was ok. Had some issues with the plot line and switching POV.This book was not as funny as the last one. The extra at the end was unexpected.

Liked the book but for some reason I just couldn't connect with it probably because of all the different points of view that I feel that wasn't really needed.

"You all are fucking nuts. Everyone is fucking nuts! The world is fucking nuts!" I yelled just as the door opened and Mace walked in.

Completely oblivious to my tantrum, Mace looked at me with still angry eyes and announced. "Time for your last set and, Stella, if there's one fuckin' song about death or guns, I'm gonna shoot you."

Look at that, book six and I'm still completely gonzo over this series. This wasn't as good as Ava and Luke, but still a good story. The highlight of this story was how well Kristen Ashley incorporated songs. Black by Pearl Jam really hit home. I felt the emotion and heaviness of this book.

Another story trope I love is second chance romances. It's nice to see a couple work through their original issues with one another.

Stella is messed up and Mace is even worse. When they were originally together they kept a part of themselves hidden. Mace left and Stella didn't ask him to stay. A year later and guns are aimed, but now it's on all the Rock Chicks- including Stella. The Hot Bunch are back and doing their best to protect their women, but also keep Mace in check.

"Let that be a lesson to you, do not ever bring donuts into a Southern woman's home. Southern women feed their guests and not with donuts. Comprende?" she snapped.
"Fuck, woman. You got a screw loose or what?"

This book was heavier than the former ones. It was still as good, but it was more gut wrenching. My heart ached for Stella. My heart felt like someone was clawing at it because of Mace.

On the bright side, the Rock Chicks and The Hot Bunch aka The Hot Boy Brigade make this story funny as hell. Nothing makes me smile like Ally and Indy being nuts.

Overall, this was nice. I'd highly recommend listening to every song mentioned. It sets the scene and you feel the emotions you're meant to feel.

"Do you think if I walk outside, someone will shoot me?"
"It's a possibility," Ally told me.
"Then that's my next move," I replied and stood up.
