Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Second chance
-Musician Hero x Manager Heroine
-Brother’s best friend
-Friends to lovers
-POC author and hero
-Dual POV
-Book #1 (ends in a HFN) - You should definitely read the prequel novella Flow before this because it gives their relationship a lot more context

Okay, I get the hype now. This was just as emotional and romantic as everyone said it was. Second chance is still one of my least favorite romance tropes, but I actually really enjoyed it here. It definitely added a lot to the angst and tension between Grip and Bristol throughout the book. Given their complicated past and intertwined present, these two have off major soulmates vibes.

I’m not surprised I ended up loving this, Kennedy Ryan seriously never misses for me.

CWs for multiple conversations about sexual assault (date rape and assault by a police officer), racism, blackmail, sexual exploitation, death/loss of a loved one

Story: 4/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Jakobi Diem & Maxine Mitchell)
Length 14h49min

Where have I been?! This book was so freaking good! The first 50% really frustrated me, it was so dang angsty to the point I felt like I would need blood pressure medication. The next 50% was so well done, all I can say is bravo

A Heart attack between Covers!

Kennedy Ryan! Ma'am! I wanna speak with a manager. My gawd woman, this book nearly did me in.

I threw my Kindle,I cursed your name, and then I ended up swooning on the floor.
I've never had a literary couple give me the kind of push and pull Grip and Bristol have.
The indecisive angst gutted me one moment and thrilled me the next. I realize their story isn't over yet, and I'm a total glutton for punishment,so I won't even give myself a recovery period before diving in to "Still".
Just know that this couple is the real deal, and their love and art have made a deep impression, and moved me.
