So the plot wasn’t really there, until it was, all at once. But this was addictive and I did really enjoy it.

I don’t recommend the audiobook though because it was a terrible narration and I had to stop listening.

Kind of terrible but enjoyable. It felt like it jumped around a lot. Would've liked to see more world building and more of the magic system as they were intriguing

Dark academia setting for witches and vampires attempting to fix deeply ingrained corruption at a magic college. There's a group of vampires and witches who are attempting to accomplish the task, but maybe have different reasons for doing it. Very interesting and I will definitely pick up the second book.

Our MMC is definitely Morally Black (he is a vampire of course) but I think after book one, he isn't even possibly Morally Gray.

This book was…not for me. It’s fine to have a morally grey or black character, but they HAVE to have some kind of a redeeming quality or else who cares about them? The number of very specific SJM references was completely distracting (Witchling, the Thirteen, stones and bones, like calls to like) I could overlook some of them, but not all together in such a short book.
