The story itself was good but the plot was very scattered. I predicted the ending but it still had me gagged little lol. I definitely would not classify this is as romance or dark academia!
I was really intrigued by the FMC’s story and her powers (I really wanted to see how her two different abilities interacted with each other) in the beginning, and by the instant pull of attraction between her and the MMC. This attraction very quickly became lust and showed a very thin line between love and hate, so much so that even as they were flirting it was hard to distinguish between the two.
The ending felt very rushed as there were like three different plot twists happening right after each other. I guessed the first one, so maybe there could’ve been some misdirections to make it harder to guess? The other two happened almost on top of each other so I wonder if there will be more explanation in the second book.

I’m here for the vibes and the vibes only idc about plot holes whatever. It had all my favorite things: enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, slow burn, dark academia, witches etc. I’d say like 2/5 on the spice meter there’s a few explicit sex scenes but it’s not the bulk of the book. Most of it is a fulfilling destiny / figuring out the truth kinda book. I read it and also listened to the majority on the Spotify audiobook and since it’s dual POV it’s both a female and male narrator which I love.
The last 20% is an absolute whirlwind wtaf plot twist cliffhanger wtf is happening vibe. For a lot of the book I got very strong Xaden/Violet vibes and was getting my life enjoying every minute but the end I was like….oh!!!….oh!!!! OH HELL NO NEVERMIND

Wow this book was insane! There’s witches and demons. Magic and spells. Love and loss. Enemies to lovers. I literally couldn’t put the book down. While there were some parts that were a little confusing to me, the ending threw me for a loop! On to the next!

Willow is one of my all time favorite FMCs I’ve ever read. Hands down.
But Gray? 🥵 sign me up for all of that, I don’t mind.

I love the true villain that Gray is. It makes the story more unique instead of always believing in good intentions. You are always second guessing yourself and wondering if he is good or bad and what game he is playing. I can’t believe I have to wait until August for the next book.
Also can we do a round of applause for the Magic system actually being powerful. I am so tired of these books not giving any real or interesting power to it’s characters. Finally we have a good witchcraft magic system. I love her affinity for the earth and the way she practices.
Anyways- Great read. Read it in one sitting and leaving the book wishing I had more!!!!
