For a book that started out so strong, it's super disappointing to see how it turned out.

Amazing antagonism that slowly became less and less dangerous. Add the fact that there isn't a central protagonists or antagonist character and it gets even more disappointing. Too many characters. Too many perspectives. I ended up not connecting with any of them.

Good start to a Star Wars series. Not the most enthralling, but I was entertained the whole time and am excited to see where the story goes.

So it took me MONTHS to get through this book. I actually restarted it at some point over the summer and considered giving up on it a few times. It was...very confusing. Restarting this book helped a little, but I still got confused. For most of the book, I had no clue what was happening. Right at the end of the book, I think I figured out what was going on, but I was still confused.
SpoilerI may have just missed this, but I still have no clue how and why the ship blew up.
I was going to give this book 2 stars, but the ending was decently good. I do plan on re-reading this book sometime in the near future. I think I could end up loving this book if I could make sense of it lol.
WE ARE ALL THE REPUBLIC!

also little note to self, this was the first book I ever annotated!(It helped me make more sense of the book) so yay future self give yourself a pat on the back :D
