One of my all time favorites. I love papergirls so much, I used to read this series in middle school when they were first being published and it was so wonderful to be able to revisit these characters again for the complete story.

Definitely has some differences from the series adaptation on Prime, and I liked both a lot. Think I could read and enjoy anything Vaughan writes at this point,

There was a lot to love in this story and there was also a lot I didn't love. Each of the Paper Girls were very unique characters. I loved learning about them and watching them travel through time but in the end, if they don't remember then what was really the point? Everything they saw and experienced is still in their future, they didn't stop anything until it was too late really. Erin (one of the clones I think) said there is no alternate timelines or alternate Earth's. There is only one time so Tiffany is still going to get yanked to the far future several times, Mac is still going to die. We don't even find out what happens to Erin or KJ.

The storyline was confusing at times but I enjoyed it immensely. The dream sequences (which was apparently Tiffany trying to talk to the girls??) was a cool addition too. I thought it was just some messed up dreams the girls were all having because of their trauma bonding but making it not just dreams but an addition to the already messy timeline was really cool.

What I didn't vibe with was Mac's treatment of KJ after finding out KJ was a lesbian. They were friends way before Mac found out about KJ or learned about their kiss so I don't understand her reason for pushing KJ or hurting her in that way. There was also several other times were Mac should homophobic/lesbophobic tendencies. This graphic novel should have had trigger warnings at the beginning for things like this because I didn't expect it AT ALL and was very surprised when it happened.

This was a lot of fun. The artwork is beautiful and I found myself pausing a  lot to really take in the art. I love a crazy time travel story!

The story was super interesting and the art was wonderfully done, but I can’t excuse the queerphobia that is rampant in this book. Also I hate the trope of the biggest queerphobic person is secretly gay. (Even though it’s rooted in reality at times), it is not the cute redemption arc y’all think it is.  Even with the other characters repeatedly correcting it, the way it popped up within the first few pages and just kept showing up really ruined this book for me.
