The descriptions were beautiful buy I should say it was not an easy read. There were so many words that I had to google, as a person whom English is not the first language, and some sentences were long. The description of scenes and battles were nicely rlwritten, but the characters had hardly any depth. As a historical FICTION I was expecting to read more of the thoughts of the characters in order to understand in one way or another, why they did what the did. The story lacked this part noticeably.

Iggulden’s description of battles remains unrivalled, the description of Bosworth makes it feel like you’re in the thick of it.
Despite this, the book attempts to cover a 15 year timespan of intense political and factional upheaval in one novel. This makes it feel quite disjointed due tothe time jump between 1471 and 1483, the death of Clarence has to be mentioned offhand amidst the chaos of 1483.
Iggulden develops his characterisation of the major players in accordance with their portrayals in the earlier novels which makes it an easier read.

Strong characters. Distinctly suffers at the end from the historical realities of the disappearance from the narrative of the most interesting characters that we've spent the series with---plus I simply just don't enjoy his Henry Tudor as well. I disagree with his interpretation of Richard, but it's well done nonetheless. The historical notes at the end continue to be well done, as in the other books.
Fantastic finish to the War of the Roses saga, well worth reading.
