Not a bad boom. However the audio version made it worse than it properly was. Got so tired and annoyed by the female narrator that the last half of the book had to be heard in half hour interval.

A great romantic suspense set on a ranch!

I downloaded this audiobook on stuff your airpods day and didn't really look into what it was about. I wasn't expecting romantic suspense, but was pleasantly surprised by it.

Evelyn has been on the run for a lot of years following an engagement to a man she thought she loved. He was charming, kind and everything someone could want. He was also crazy wealthy, hence her current predicament. After he snapped and hurt her, Evelyn ran and he's been chasing her ever since, leaving her sick mementos each time he finds her. She's about to leave Montana after receiving one when she interviews for a job at Resting Warrior Ranch with former Navy Seal Lucas. He doesn't have a job, but offers her a safe place to stay. She decides to try and starts confiding in Lucas, but once her ex finds her again, will she run like always or trust this new man in her life?

This was pretty good! It was a tad predictable but I still enjoyed it. Recently I've become a sucker for all things Montana because of Devney Perry's books. Now I'm binging a show about people finding their dream home in the state. 😂

The authors did a great job with the start of this series. I’ve read and listened to the story and I preferred it in e-book. I thought Connor Brown did a good job as the male narrator but I could not relate to Emma Wilder’s presentation of the female role.
