Definitely 5 stars! Wanda is so lovable, and the plot and characters are amazing- unforgettable. I can't remember how many times I've reread this and rewatched the movie.

I finshed this book on the very first day of my prep holidays !!!
and I love Ian and vanda :)
and I love Ian and vanda :)
was so hoping for intriguing characters like Edward and Bella. Didn't happen, could not finish!
This is one book I never completely buried after my Twilight phase. Honestly, I still find rather bearable to read. However the soppyness of Meyer's writing is still in this book. It would of been so much better if here wasn't so much conflict over love.

I read this because I was in between available books at the library, and because a friend of mine that I’ve lost contact with loved this book when we were in middle school. It was a really interesting read from the perspective of figuring out a little more about a childhood friend who recommended it.
I’m not a huge sci fi person but it was a compelling concept and overall pretty well executed. The first-person narrative of an alien that has taken over a human’s body—and with the human host’s consciousness still intact and fighting to maintain a foothold in her own mind—is genuinely a compelling idea, and I think well handled over all.
Without spoiling anything, I think Stephenie’s problem is she creates a moral quandary that is literally impossible to resolve, but tries to anyway in a way that is mutually amenable to everyone involved and at least basically moral. It’s way too hard of a goal to accomplish completely. She got closer here than she did with Twilight, though, in my opinion.
