Sophie's story is so sad, but this book is so good. I couldn't stop reading their love story. By far my favorite Bridgerton thus far!

Benedict is an absolute dickhead. The female anatomy in the book is completely bonkers. There is explicict fat shaming. Insta-love is a theme.
A fast, trashy read.

My least favourite of the Bridgerton books so far. Although I loved Sophie, I cannot get over how horrible and manipulating Benedict is.
Also, have we not seen enough retellings of Cinderella?

The redeeming factor of this book was being introduced to the other Bridgerton siblings. I enjoyed reading their parts of the book more than any part with Benedict.

As with the other Bridgerton books, the way that Benedict treats Sophie in this is a little yikes sometimes and only really justified by the fact that he eventually loves her. Plot wise, this was the one of the series I found more interesting, and the comeuppance for the main antagonist was very satisfying.

Yikes, Benedict, yikes. I was thoroughly unimpressed by his "offer" but I'm still enjoying this series overall because of the Bridgerton sibling banter, the Regency antics, and of course Lady Whistledown's gossip. I do get so frustrated when characters refuse to simply communicate with each other, though!
