DNF'd about 30-40% through. It's just so boring.

I really enjoyed this one, much more so than the previous 2, which I read about a year ago. I saw both seasons of the Netflix show before reading any of the books, and was quite surprised by the big plot differences. The show spoiled the giant plot twist, unfortunately, but that didn't decrease my enjoyment of the book. Very much looking forward to reading Six of Crows next, since those were some of my favorite characters from the show!

Semi possible spoilers below
It might be the virus climate but I'm feeling negative about this one
What was this book like ? All yee all yee welcome to the church of Alina.
It was a good ride. I'm glad Alina and Mel seem to be out of the story for the spin off. I loved them in the beginning but grew to dislike them both as a couple and grew really tired of little miss all powerful. I know, what is wrong with me ? I got tired of Alina being the snowflake that would save them all, of everyone circling around her, worshiping her, Alina, Alina, Alina. Meh.
The ending ? Really you pulled that card ? Why not the crash and burn stay crashed and burnt ? it would have made a more impactful ending. I was left eye rolling and sighing the easy path taken. I don't want a happy ending after what went down. Omg did you see the sex scene ? No you didn't it was a blink and it was over. Shouldn't there have been tingles ? After giggles ? Something ?
I am moving on the The King of Scars which I'm told is wonderful. Fingers crossed

Okay wow. So much just happened in this book. What an incredible end to this series. I am distraught about the Darkling, but had a feeling that’s the direction it would go. Again, I just really appreciate that the author didn’t make these books unnecessarily long. They are perfect the way they are.

I just have 2 things to say :
1) I'm glad this is over so I can move on to King of Scars.
2) Why does everyone seem to hate the ending so much?!

Even tho I found these books a little boring I still loved them, so I can’t settle my thoughts on how I feel about them.
I’m so confused over my thoughts on the Darkling, I’ll just say he’s playing his role extremely good and gives me the vibes of a villain with a heart buried deep down somewhere. And I mean deep, deep down. I don’t know why I think that, he did want the best for Ravka, but he was willing to offer too much.
I’m completely in love with Mal and Nikolai. I can’t decide which one is better so I’m settling on both.
I’m a bit disappointed in this series after all I’ve heard about it, but I get why so many people are raving about it.
An overall good read that tbh I’ll probably go for again. I’m excited to read Six of crows and the rest of the books in this universe that I like so very much.
